Activities at St Matthew's Church

St Matthew’s accommodates a number of activities, detailed below.

Scouts

The 211th Scout Group meets at St. Matthew’s Community Hall on Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Please check out our facebook page for the most up to date info. We have places for boys and girls in all sections:

  • Beavers (5 ¾ to 8yrs)
  • Cubs (8 to 10.5 yrs)
  • Scouts (10.5 to 14yrs)
  • Explorers (14-16yrs) (District Provision)

Scouting offers Everyday Adventure to girls and boys and helps young people and adults reach their full potential.

Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment.

We play games, go out on trips, enjoy camping and try lots of different sports like Swimming and Dodgeball and we can also earn badges by learning and doing our best.

We help our community and the church by supporting activities, services and events and even some of our badge work would also support the curriculum.
Our young people have the opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and most importantly have FUN!

Scouting isn’t just for young people, adults can join in too! Our team of Volunteers will offer you a friendly and warm welcome.

We meet every Monday 6.30 – 8.00 pm To learn more about our group and how to join the adventure, come along on a Monday evening, or contact Simon Cardall by emailing scardall@aol.com or by phone on 0776 885 9617
