Schools

The population of Aston and Nechells contains many children, and we therefore take whatever opportunities we can to work alongside the local schools as partners in the community.

The annual community carol services see most of the local primary and secondary schools taking part in some way, and it is always a joy to see the range of young talents that exists in Aston and Nechells.

Many of the local schools arrange visits to our churches as part of their RE curriculum, and we are always very happy to facilitate these visits. The clergy are also regularly called upon to provide input to RE lessons in schools.

Our closest school relationships, quite properly, are with our two church schools, St Clement’s and St Matthew’s. The clergy regularly take assemblies in these schools and frequently visit the schools to pray with the Headteachers and support them in their valuable work.
